We’ve been telling people for a long time that they shouldn’t focus on PageRank so much; many site owners seem to think it’s the most important metric for them to track, which is simply not true. We removed it because we felt it was silly to tell people not to think about it, but then to show them the data, implying that they should look at it. 
说实话这句话我没有完全读懂，主要是最后一句，前面的部分大概意思是这样：我们很久以来都在告诉人们不要在PR值上面花费太多的精力，很多网站主认为PR值是非常重要的一项指标，这是不正确的。我们删除它是因为我们认为这（指过度关注PR值）是非常愚蠢的一种行为，并且让人们不要再去想着它。
主要是最后一句我不明白，也就是这句but then to show them the data, implying that they should look at it. ，如果直接翻译过来的话，就是：但随后向他们展示的数据，这意味着他们应该看它。
这个数据应该指的是PR值，如果不加这最后一句，那么整体的意思就是要删除PR值了，但是加上最后一句以后给我弄糊涂了。所以我说这句话我没弄懂，整个结合上文也没有找出来一个合理的翻译方法- -！囧了，大家有读明白的告诉我一下吧，辛苦了。

好玩，来看新闻，结果看到了这条旧闻。
我觉得九月的翻译有个问题，就是google和这个帖子里面说的PR消失，不是说从工具栏消失，他们的意思是保留在工具栏的显示，而从网站管理员工具里把他去掉。
我在自己的blog里解释了一下
狼,”We removed it because we felt it was silly to tell people not to think about it, but then to show them the data, implying that they should look at it. “这句话的意思 你没看明白,他不是像你说的”过度关注PR值是愚蠢的行为”,正确翻译应为”我们移除这个(指PR值显示),主要是因为我们觉得我们一边再告诉人们不要去关注PR值,但同时却在工具栏上显示这个数值来默使他们应该去看这个(指PR值)!所以,以后我估计PR值仅仅会从GG工具栏上消失,不像人们说的丢掉PR这个东西! 你的明白?
